The Trump administration is rolling back gun control rules from the Biden administration. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Wednesday that the Department of Justice is “cutting unnecessary red tape,” and claimed “nothing we are doing today weakens law enforcement.”

One of the rules being repealed is a 2024 rule from the Biden administration that calls for firearms dealers to conduct background checks for buyers at gun shows and other non-traditional sales locations.

Gun rights groups claim the rule violates the second amendment. Gun control groups say loosening the regulations will make the country less safe.
