Suits have been filed against many of the new Texas laws that went into effect this week. The latest seeks to overturn a ban on lab-grown meat. It’s brought by two out-of-state companies that are developing what is called “cell cultured” proteins. But the ban was backed by state Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller, who said that meat “better come from a pasture, not a lab.”
