The planned expansion of the Toyota plant on San Antonio’s south side is attracting federal attention. Toyota Motor Manufacturing officials hosted U.S. Senator Ted Cruz on Tuesday at the plant, along with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling.
Toyota announced a 3.6-billion-dollar expansion last month. A second vehicle assembly line will move the manufacture of Toyota Tacomas from Mexico to San Antonio. The expansion is expected to be complete by 2030.
