By So far, plans aren’t working out for a televised debate between U.S. Senate candidates Ken Paxton and James Talarico. The deadline to accept an invitation to the first proposed debate passed on Wednesday with no response from Paxton.
Hearst Newspapers and NBC/Telemundo would have sponsored the debate on September 22nd at a venue in the Rio Grande Valley. Democrat James Talarico had agreed to the debate, and has accepted two other invitations to square off against his GOP opponent.
