FEMA is starting to wrap up its work in the Rio Grande Valley. The Texas Division of Emergency Management announced yesterday that FEMA disaster recovery centers will close next week.
The center at the Las Palmas Community Center in McAllen will close July 9th, while the one in the Starr County Courthouse Annex in Rio Grande City will close July 12th. The center at the Sebastian Community Center in Willacy County is also closing next week.
The centers were opened to help answer questions and help file applications for financial assistance following severe storms and flooding in late March.
