“Fight The Trump Takeover” Protests Held Across The U.S.

Hundreds of protests were held across the U.S. Saturday in response to the redistricting plans underway in Texas. Over five-thousand people turned out for a “Fight The Trump Takeover” rally in Austin.

Among the organizers were the Texas for All Coalition, which said in a news release that President Trump’s call to redraw the congressional maps in Texas was “silencing the voices of communities of color.”

A website for the protests claims, “Trump has made it clear that he’s not stopping at Texas,” and that “he’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida” and “every state he can twist to help him steal Congress.”
