Floating Lantern Blamed For Fires

Fire officials in Mesquite say a floating lantern is believed to be the cause of a fire that destroyed two homes on Friday.

Investigators believe that the lantern became entangled in a tree as it descended, eventually sparking a fire that spread to nearby residences. The origin or the party responsible for the release of the lanterns is still unknown.
