A former administrator for the City of Edcouch has been sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison. Victor Hugo De La Cruz was sentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court in McAllen.
The former city manager was arrested last year and charged with accepting kickbacks from a media consulting business. He pleaded guilty to a bribery charge in May.
