San Antonio Congressman Joaquin Castro is speaking out about the recent detention of a young girl by ICE agents.

Castro took to social media Wednesday to say that 16-year-old Emely Chambo had been detained by ICE agents while she was on her way to church. Chambo is a student at Churchill High School. Her father was allegedly told by ICE agents to pick her up or she’d be sent out of state.

Castro says the father arrived at the facility and was also detained. ICE hasn’t commented on the incident but Castro says both father and daughter remain in custody.
