Tens of thousands of homes in Austin are without power, thanks to a massive hailstorm.
A spokesperson for Austin Energy says there is no estimated timeline for restoration because “damage is so substantial.” They say that power, for some homes, could be out for “multiple days.” At the height of the storm, more than 72-thousand outages were reported.
The hail was so hard that it shattered a glass window near the top of the State Capitol rotunda.
