US House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is scheduled to meet tonight with Texas Democratic legislators in Austin. The discussion will be about how to obstruct Republican efforts to redraw the state’s congressional districts during the special session that’s now in progress.
President Donald Trump is encouraging Texas Republicans to create a map that could add up to five more GOP seats before the 2026 midterms. Jeffries is set to meet with Democrats from the House and Senate from 8 to 9 p.m. The location hasn’t been disclosed.
