Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is going strong as the war in Iran nears the two-month mark amid a ceasefire.
Briefing reporters at the Pentagon today, Hegseth said “no one sails from the Strait of Hormuz to anywhere in the world without the permission of the United States Navy.” He says 34 ships have already been turned around due to the blockade.
Hegseth was joined at today’s briefing by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine – their appearance coming the day after President Trump said he was under no pressure to wind down the war in Iran.
