Hidalgo County law enforcement won’t take no for an answer when pulling over impaired drivers this weekend.
County law enforcement officers are taking part in a DWI No Refusal Initiative that begins today and runs through Sunday. Anyone stopped for suspected impairment will be asked to take a breath test or give a blood sample. Those who refuse will be compelled to give a blood sample by judges who will be standing by to issue search warrants.
Law enforcement will also be conducting extra patrols to help crack down on the number of impaired drivers.
