An ICE agent who is now facing federal charges in Minnesota has been given a 75-thousand-dollar bond in South Texas.
Christian Castro appeared in federal court in McAllen on Friday, pleading not guilty to charges of making false statements to the FBI. Castro was previously arrested on state-level assault charges related to a January shooting in Minnesota, but he was released from custody after a court hearing late last month.
The judge in Friday’s hearing ordered Castro to surrender his passport, submit to GPS monitoring and avoid drinking alcohol.
