House Speaker Mike Johnson says there won’t be a vote on releasing files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein before lawmakers go on break in August.
Johnson made the announcement Monday as some GOP lawmakers are calling foul over the Trump administration’s handling of the issue. The outcry started when Attorney General Pam Bondi said there was no so-called “client list” of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking involving the rich and well-connected, and no new info would be released.
Since then, President Trump has called for releasing relevant grand jury transcripts in the case, while calling the files a hoax perpetrated by Democrats.
