The owners of a Los Fresnos bakery have been sentenced to four months in prison. Leonardo Baez-Lara and Nora Avila-Guel were both sentenced Wednesday and ordered to pay a fine of over 21-thousand dollars.
The owners of Abby’s Bakery were arrested last February after a federal immigration raid led to the detention of eight employees. Two of the employees were undocumented, while six others had visas but weren’t authorized to work in the U.S. They were found guilty of harboring undocumented workers in August. They will spend two years on supervised release after they leave prison.
