A man is in custody after he reportedly fired a shotgun at a McKinney police officer late Saturday night.

Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired at the Gray Branch Apartments on North Ridge Road. Investigators say Alexis Calderon fired a shotgun in the direction of an officer before withdrawing into an apartment.

Calderon soon surrendered without further incident. A search of his unit turned up several guns and ammo. Calderon is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.
