A man accused of threatening a Hidalgo County judge has been charged after being extradited from Illinois. Gilberto Zepeda the Third appeared in court yesterday and was charged with harassment and making a threat against a judge.

Zepeda was arrested at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago last month after allegedly making threats against District Court Judge Nerieida Lopez Singleterry. A protective order to prevent Zepeda from contacting the judge or her family was also issued yesterday. His bond was set at 150-thousand dollars.
