A McAllen couple has been sentenced to decades in prison following their convictions for sexual assault on a child. Brian and Evelyn Chavez were convicted in November.
Investigators began looking into the case in 2022 after receiving information about the abuse of a minor child over several years.
Wednesday’s sentences included 40 years for continuous sexual abuse of a child, 40 years for aggravated sexual assault of a child and 20 years for indecency with a child. All sentences will be served concurrently.
