Governor Greg Abbott has announced he’s deploying the Texas National Guard to Austin ahead of the planned “No Kings” rally on Saturday. The Austin gathering will be one of more than 26-hundred rallies across the country.
Abbott calls the demonstration “antifa linked,” and he vows that soldiers, state troopers, special agents and Texas Rangers will be on hand to, quote, “maintain law and order.” The Austin event is scheduled to begin at the Capitol at 2:00 p.m.
