By Democrats in California are moving forward with their own redistricting efforts as Texas Republicans move closer to finalizing their own redrawn maps.
Governor Gavin Newsom signed the measure Thursday that calls for a special election aiming to redraw state maps that would most likely give Democrats five additional House seats. The statewide vote will be held in November.
