A Palmhurst man is pleading not guilty to charges of animal cruelty connected to the violent death of a cat. Twenty-two-year-old Alec Omar Espericueta was arrested in Mission last April after he allegedly slammed the cat on the ground, hit it with a rock and then stomped on it.
Espericueta reportedly told investigators that he trapped the cat in his neighborhood and took violent action when it appeared to be dying. He’ll be back in court on March 30th for a pre-trial hearing.
