The U.S. military is back to requiring flu vaccines after hundreds of soldiers became ill earlier this month.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declared back in April that the mandatory flu vaccine for military personnel would become optional under the Pentagon’s new vaccine policy.
On Wednesday, a Pentagon spokesman said exceptions have been approved for the Army, Navy, Air Force and other branches of the military that would require flu vaccines for certain service members.
The move comes after a flu outbreak at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas affected about 220 recruits.
