Police in Pharr are giving more information about a death that led to the arrest of two parents earlier this week.
Officers were sent to a home in the 200 block of East Sam Houston on Sunday to do a welfare check. Investigators say a friend of Miguel Angel Ortiz, Junior called police after Ortiz reportedly said his two-month-old child had been dead for three days.
An autopsy later found the child had bruising on his skull, chest and buttocks. Ortiz and Karina Aidee Ramirez have both been charged with capital murder in connection with their child’s death.
