A new poll shows Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton leading incumbent Senator John Cornyn in the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate. The survey by the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs found Paxton ahead of Cornyn by three percentage points, 48 to 45 percent.

Cornyn narrowly edged Paxton in the March 3rd primary, when neither candidate won 50 percent of the vote. The winner of the May 26th runoff will face Democratic candidate James Talarico in November.
