By Protesters are demanding the reinstatement of a fired Texas State University professor. Texas State Employees Union members and their allies gathered on Thursday at the Hays County Courthouse to show their support for former history professor Tom Alter.
University President Kelly Damphousse fired Alter on September 10th after the tenured professor advocated rebellion against the federal government during a virtual socialism conference. Alter is suing the university, claiming his rights to free speech and due process were violated.
