By Chicago residents are protesting the arrival of National Guard troops in the city. Demonstrators gathered downtown on Wednesday to protest the Trump administration’s use of federal troops to help round up immigrants.
Guardsmen arrived at an Army Reserve center in the Chicago area earlier this week after 300 members were federalized by the president over the weekend. Illinois and Chicago have sued to block the president’s efforts and called the move “patently unlawful.”
