Several Republican priorities no longer have time to be passed into law in the current legislative session. Any Senate bills that hadn’t received the preliminary approval of the House by Tuesday can’t be passed before the session ends on June 2nd.
The failed bills include a crackdown on abortion pills being sent into Texas from other states, required proof of citizenship for voting, and a bill to keep biological men out of women’s bathrooms in public buildings. Some of these bills may be added to remaining legislation as amendments.
