Top staff members of the Texas Democratic Party are jumping ship after Chairman Kendall Scudder moved party headquarters from Austin to his hometown of Dallas.
The party’s executive director, chief of staff, and other staffers are quitting after Scudder ordered them to agree to move to Dallas by November or lose their jobs. More departures are anticipated. The state party’s Executive Committee voted two weeks ago to relocate.
The move is reportedly throwing the party into a state of chaos ahead of next year’s crucial midterms.
