A spokesperson for Charter’s Spectrum Internet says a stray bullet caused a loss of service in parts of North Texas on Friday. Thousands of Spectrum users in Dallas-Fort Worth started reporting problems around 1 p.m.
The outage temporarily stopped air traffic at airports in North Texas, including Love Field and DFW International. Repair crews found that the outage resulted after a stray bullet damaged a fiber optic cable. The interrupted service was almost completely restored by 4 p.m.
