Drivers across Texas can expect to see increased traffic patrols this week. Starting today and continuing through next Monday, the Texas Highway Patrol will conduct its annual Distracted Driving traffic enforcement campaign.

Authorities will be on the lookout for drivers who are texting, failing to Move Over or Slow Down for emergency vehicles, or are otherwise distracted behind the wheel. More than 79-thousand citations and warnings were issued during last year’s enforcement period.
