With the end of the second special legislative session on Thursday, another effort to ban THC products in the state has failed.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, who leads the state Senate, again called for a ban on almost all cannabis compounds in any edible, drinkable, or smokable form. The House put the ban on a back burner while concentrating on redistricting and flood recovery.
Governor Greg Abbott vetoed a bill in June that would have banned THC products, which are now a multibillion-dollar industry in Texas.
