The Strait of Hormuz is expected to reopen to oil shipping soon after President Trump signed a memorandum of understanding that extends the U.S. ceasefire with Iran.

The White House said Wednesday that the memorandum is now “in effect,” and a spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry confirmed last night that the agreement had taken effect. The agreement also calls for the end of the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.
