Trump, Schumer Close On Plan To Avert Another Shutdown

A deal is reportedly in the works that would avert a government shutdown. Government funding is set to expire Friday at midnight, which could lead to a shutdown.

The “New York Times” said Wednesday night, President Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer moved closer toward a possible agreement on a plan that would make funding the Department of Homeland Security separate from the federal funding package.

Minnesota’s senators have been urging Congress to delay funding for Homeland Security unless there are reforms in immigration enforcement.
