A State Board of Education member is threatening to sue a couple of her GOP colleagues over some social media posts.
The dispute came up during debate over how to teach Texas history and Bible stories in public schools. Board members Brandon Hall and Julie Pickren posted messages describing Democrat Marisa Perez-Diaz as a “Marxist” who supports gender confusion and boys in girls’ sports and restrooms.
Perez-Diaz sent cease-and-desist letters to Hall and Pickren last week, claiming their statements could cause her “personal, professional and reputational harm,” as well as encouraging harassment from others.
