The UN Security Council is expected to meet today to discuss the crisis unfolding in Iran. Multiple news reports say a briefing on the situation was requested by the United States.

The meeting comes as over three-thousand protesters have reportedly died in Iran as authorities crack down on anti-government demonstrations.

President Trump told reporters Wednesday that he had it on “good authority” that the killing in Iran has stopped and that “there’s no plan for executions.”
