Mike Waltz says the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran has broken down. Appearing on ABC’s “This Week”, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations said Iran is not living up to the memorandum of understanding and that all options are on the table. His comments come amid new tension over the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. insists the Strait remains open, with CENTCOM saying in a post on X Sunday that, “U.S. forces are positioned and prepared to ensure that freedom of navigation.” This comes after Iran said the Strait is closed “until further notice.”
The country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard announced it was closing the oil-shipping lane because a vessel was traveling on an “unauthorized route.”
