A Weslaco doctor is facing federal charges for allegedly selling illegal prescriptions for opioids and other controlled substances.
An indictment against 70-year-old James Robles accused him of conspiring with others to prescribe millions of pills to patients he never examined at a clinic in Houston.
Investigators claim Robles prescribed over five-million pills, including hydrocodone and oxycodone, in exchange for millions of dollars in cash. He could face up to 20 years in prison for each of the three charges he’s currently facing.
