Woman Arrested At Border After Falsely Claiming US Citizenship

A woman has been arrested for trying to enter the U.S. by falsely claiming to be a citizen.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the 33-year-old woman was stopped at the Hidalgo International Bridge on Wednesday. She did not provide any identification to officers and was held for biometric verification.

She was confirmed as a Mexican citizen with a criminal history and several removal orders. She was charged with violating U.S. immigration laws.
