A woman from Pharr is facing charges after allegedly trying to bring meth into the United States in a case of canned cocktails.
Thirty-one-year-old Sandy Jennifer Trevino was stopped at the Pharr International Bridge on November 20th. Inspectors reportedly confiscated a case of canned cocktails because it exceeded the amount of distilled spirits that can be brought into the U.S. for personal use.
A state ABC inspector noticed that the liquid inside the cans had crystallized, leading to a field test that discovered the presence of meth. Trevino was arrested on December 7th and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
