Two South Texas women are pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge related to an attempt to fool a federal agency during a fitness test. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers Cristiani Briana White and Cynteria Janise LeBlanc both entered guilty pleas in McAllen on Tuesday.
White was reportedly applying for a job with Homeland Security Investigations in 2021, but needed to pass a fitness test as part of the process. After White failed the first test in 2024, LeBlanc stepped in for the second attempt. The plan unraveled when someone who knew White challenged LeBlanc.
The two women made a deal to resign their posts and not apply for another federal job for 25 years. Prosecutors have agreed to recommend probation for both women.
