By Pharr law enforcement responded to a man on an overpass who seemed ready to jump off the freeway around noon today. Multiple emergency alerts sounded over smartphones as the event occurred.
Social media posts showed a male climbing a hurricane fence attached to the overpass with emergency vehicle below the freeway.
The city manager of Pharr told KURV the man was secured by mental health response authorities. Pharr PD has announced a return to normal traffic since 1PM.
