The Edcouch-Elsa school district has hired a new superintendent. Rosalba De Hoyos was named the sole finalist for the position last month.
The school board welcomed De Hoyos to the position on Thursday after a state-mandated 21-day waiting period.
De Hoyos has served in various roles at several South Texas school districts, including her most recent role as associate superintendent for instruction for the McAllen ISD.
