Three people are dead in two separate attacks in Michigan and Virginia. In Michigan, a suspect is dead after driving a truck full of explosives into a synagogue near Detroit.
Police say security officers fired shots at the driver and the vehicle burst into flames when it crashed into the building. The vehicle was reportedly registered to a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon.
In Virginia, an Army officer is dead and two others are injured after a gunman opened fire at Old Dominion University. The gunman is also dead and has been identified as a former National Guardsman who had provided material support to ISIS in 2016.
