Proposed 2027 Federal Budget Includes $30M For New Vets’ Med Center In SA

The proposed federal budget for 2027 reportedly includes 30 million dollars to buy land for a new veterans medical center in San Antonio.

Last month, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai sent a letter to the US Department of Veterans Affairs expressing their support for a new V-A medical center in the city.

The proposed new medical center would replace the Audie Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital, which opened in 1973.
