An energy drink company is responding to a lawsuit filed by a South Texas family. The lawsuit was filed by the parents of 17-year-old Larissa Rodriguez last week.
The family claims the Weslaco High School student died last year from an enlarged heart caused by the caffeine in Alani Nu energy drinks, which are made by Celsius Holdings.
In a statement to NBC News last week, the company said it discloses the amount of caffeine on each can and that the product is not recommended for children or others sensitive to caffeine.
