A newly-passed ban on smokable hemp products, has been put on hold for now.
Cynthia Cabrera with the Texas Hemp Business Council says the temporary restraining order only lasts two weeks as the court case plays out. They argue that the new restrictions on products containing THC can only be made by state lawmakers, not unelected bureaucrats.
The Texas AG’s office says the rules came from the federal government, which clarified the definition of hemp in November.
