By A new court hearing is scheduled for the man accused of killing actor Jonathan Joss on the South Side last year.
Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez had a court appearance on Wednesday. He was arrested for murder last June after he reportedly told police he had shot and killed Joss after an ongoing dispute.
During Wednesday’s hearing, the prosecution said the state is still evaluating the case, and the defense said they’ve identified dozens of witnesses they want to talk to. Both sides agreed Alvarez will return for another court hearing on June 29th.
