An Edinburg woman is facing capital murder charges after her two children were found dead in a burning vehicle in San Antonio. Thirty-four-year-old Marlene Vidal was arrested on Friday. Investigators say the children were between five and seven-years-old.

The Edinburg Police Department released a statement following Vidal’s arrest, saying officers contacted Vidal several days before Friday’s deadly fire. There was no basis to make an arrest or execute an emergency detention at that time. Vidal’s bond has been set at two-point-one-million dollars.
