The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley is moving some of its engineering courses from Edinburg to Brownsville. The university recently studied ways to improve student life on the Brownsville campus.

The report noted that some students were spending hours commuting from Brownsville to Edinburg and back, mainly for engineering courses. The university now plans to offer third-year engineering courses on the Brownsville campus starting this fall, with fourth-year courses to follow next year.
